Our mission is to teach about nature while sewing and having creative fun! We help conserve nature by giving 10% of all proceeds to the Nature Conservancy and the Environmental Defense Fund.
I have always loved nature and I started to sew when I was 8 years old in 1974 and have loved it ever since. Sew Nature combines these two loves! I am so excited to share them with you!
I started quilting when I was pregnant with my second son in 1996. I feel I am wrapping my kids in love when I make them a quilt.
In 2016 I read the book, Big Magic: Creative Living… by Melissa Gilbert and it inspired me to live a more creative life. Which lead to discovery of Machine Embroidery and Art Quilting in 2016. I found my creative niche in making my own unique designs that teach people about nature.
I have an extensive background in Ecology with a Bachelor's degree in Freshwater Ecology and a Masters in Environmental Science and almost 30 years in the field. I feel strongly that we all need to do our part to save our natural world to save ourselves. We need nature physically, mentally and spiritually.
